Doug never had the chance to make it to high school with the rest of us and we thought we should remember him. He rode the bus with Lori and I, living out in the area around us. He was part of our lives then. Lori happened to still have to newspaper article and posted it.This was my first experience with the death of someone my own age, I remember feeling stunned.
We lost quite a character. He was tall and lanky, and friends with Judson. Doug was full of mischief at his young age. I went to his funeral and had a difficult time understanding how/why this drowning happened.
