Richard Connor

 

 Richard Dale Connor May 29, 1960 - April 22, 1986 Rick was killed in a car accident Tuesday April 22, 1986 on Oregonia Road, less than 1 mile from his home. He died one month shy of his 26th birthday. He left behind his wife Robin and 14 month old son Scot, parents Walter and Shirley Connor, brother Duane Connor, sisters Debbie Turton, and Terry Connor, along with Grandparents Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He was employed by the Kroger company where he had worked for 10 years. He still enjoyed playing softball and bowled for a local team. Rick's life was cut short but his legacy lives on in his son Scot.  Below is Scot and his new wife, Kate,married September  2008.

Rick was a great friend and athlete. we wrestled during the school year and played softball during the summer on the Lake Built sponsored team along with Rick Lake, Beep Mccarty, Ron Vomering. He had a heart of gold. During my junior year he along with his sister Debbie and cousin Kim stopped by the house every morning to give me a ride to school. I really enjoyed the friendship I had with Rick and will cherish it alway. Oregonia Road was way to hard on too many of our classmates...

I look at this handsome picture of Rick and remember him. I can still see him in the hallways of LHS,smiling, friendly and carrying on with classmates. Although it has been many years, with this tribute, his spirit remains.
