Harold Singleton

 

 
Harold E. Singleton, 52, of Wilmington and formerly of Lebanon, Ohio, died early Saturday morning, Aug. 10, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Singleton is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sophia A. Singleton of Wilmington.
 
Harold was born on March 14, 1961 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, a son of the late Georgia B. Singleton and Robert R. Singleton. He attended Lebanon High School. Harold worked at Weathervane Dry Cleaners in Wilmington for 20-plus years as a professional dry cleaner.
 
He also enjoyed his many years of professional cooking. Harold liked playing John Madden football on PlayStation. He played intramural basketball out of Clarksville and Lebanon.
 
He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Methodist Church in Lebanon. Harold was very humble and very respectable. He was loved by many. Harold loved spending time with his family.
 
In addition to his wife, Mr. Singleton is survived by a daughter, Kara (Jeff) Arrington of Wilmington; two sons, Andre (Brandy) Singleton of Wilmington and Antoine (Christina) Singleton of Wilmington; two granddaughters, Aaliyah Davis and Teara Singleton; seven grandsons, Dre'Quan Singleton, Dre'Aunte Singleton, Jaden Singleton, Braden Davis, Curtis Singleton, Kaden Neanover and Dominick Singleton, all of Wilmington; a sister, Vanessa Singleton of Middletown; three brothers, Robert "Butchy" Singleton of Middletown, Wilbur "Deno" Singleton of Lebanon, and Lional "Stacey" Singleton of Hamilton; his mother-in-law, Virginia L. Arrington of Wilmington; sisters-in-law, Bridgett Strickland of Wilmington, Angela (Sherman) Nared of Middletown, Keena Arrington, Kenise Jenkins and Victoria Singleton, all three of Xenia; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Brenda) Arrington of Cleveland, Kent Jenkins and Kenny Arrington, both of Xenia, and William "Marty" Strickland of Wilmington; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
 
 
 
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a sibling, Carl "Spencer" Singleton; a granddaughter, Mya Jade Lee Fields; and his father-in-law, Kenneth L. Arrington.
 
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 225 Randolph St. in Wilmington. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the church.

I never realized that we were born in the same hospital 2  days apart.  RIP friend... I imagine you are shooting hoops in heaven and assigned good works .
